Part-Time Classroom Instructor | From $35 per hour | 1-3 days per week | School hours
About the Role
We're looking for enthusiastic people to join our small teaching team delivering hands-on digital technology programs to primary school students across the Goulburn region.
Here's what makes this different: You'll receive your full 10-week term roster in advance - no waiting week-to-week wondering about your schedule. You'll know exactly which days you're working for the entire term ahead, then enjoy all school holidays off (13 weeks per year). This is the security of knowing your schedule combined with the lifestyle benefit of genuine time off.
As a Classroom Instructor, you'll work as part of a two-person teaching team, helping kids aged 5–12 discover coding, robotics and computational thinking through fun, interactive activities. You'll travel to local schools, set up the classroom, deliver or support students during activities and pack up at the end of the day.
Don't worry if technology isn't your thing - our programs are designed to be engaging and accessible, and we'll teach you everything you need to know. Our most successful instructors have been parents, teachers, and people who simply love working with kids - tech skills are teachable, enthusiasm isn't. The kids think it's play; you'll help them learn while having fun.
We have opportunities for both lead instructors (who take primary responsibility for lesson delivery) and assistant instructors (who support the lead and help manage classroom activities). Your role will depend on your experience and qualifications - we'll discuss this with you during the interview process.
Everything you need is provided: the curriculum, the equipment, the training and the support. You bring your energy and enthusiasm for working with kids.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Own car and driver's licence (you'll travel between schools)
- Reliability - schools and kids depend on you showing up
- Genuine enthusiasm for working with children
- Strong communication and organisational skills
We value most:
- Energy and engagement in the classroom
- Willingness to learn and grow as an educator
- Team players who support each other
You don't need:
- Teaching qualifications (helpful but not required)
- Tech expertise (we provide full paid training on everything you need to know)
- Experience with our curriculum (we'll teach you that too)
What We Offer
- From $35 per hour for all delivery, training, meetings and development time
- Set roster for the full term ahead - receive your complete 10-week schedule in advance
- All school holidays off - 13 weeks per year of guaranteed time off
- School hours (approximately 8:30am-3:00pm, some flexibility available)
- Full paid training - online modules, classroom observation days, practice sessions and ongoing support
- Supportive team culture - you'll work in teaching pairs and teams, never alone in the classroom
- Room to grow - opportunities to develop from assistant into lead instructor roles
- Meaningful work - finish your day knowing you made a real difference with kids
Starting availability is 1–3 days per week, with potential for more days as our programs expand.
What a Typical Day Looks Like
- Arrive at the school and set up the program equipment
- Work with your teaching partner to deliver engaging, hands-on activities - think robots, coding games, and creative problem-solving challenges
- Help students work through coding challenges and robotics activities
- Manage classroom behaviour and keep energy high
- Pack up and head to your next school or home
