Disability Support Worker - Mummel

Contractor role

About the role

We are currently seeking a reliable and compassionate disability support worker to provide care and assistance to a 30-year-old male with a traumatic brain injury, dependant on support for all aspects of daily living.

While your skills/qualifications and experience tell us part of your story, your values, attitude, and cultural alignment with Southern Cross are essential.

At Southern Cross we aim to ensure our behaviours reflect our core values which include

Duties include but not limited to

Personal care including bowel care
Medication administration
Assistance with Allied health tasks
Manual handling including hoist transfers
PEG feed management
Continence management
Domestic assistance
Documentation and reporting

You will be supported by qualified healthcare professionals and would get the necessary training and skills to do the best job you can.

Shift times attended with 2 workers

Monday to Sunday 8am-8pm

Requirements:

Applicants should be fluent in English
Previous care experience
Current references
Mobile phone
Certificate III in Aged/Disability or another relevant field (mandatory)
Working With Children Check – Paid (mandatory)
First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain (mandatory)
NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain (mandatory)
Current driver's licence and your own car with insurance
Passionate about caring and committed to client wellbeing
