About Mowing & Growing
Mowing & Growing has been operating on the Central Coast since 2005 — over 20 years of building a reputation for quality, reliability and professional service. We are a local family business. Our crews take pride in their work and our clients stay with us because the standard is consistently high.
We run structured, well-equipped crews across residential lawn mowing, acreage mowing, garden maintenance and property maintenance. Our garden maintenance work is growing, and this role leads it.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced gardener to lead our garden maintenance work across the Central Coast — running jobs to a premium standard and, as the crew grows, leading and training an offsider. This is a hands-on leadership role: you do the work and you set the standard.
You will report to our Field Supervisor and work closely with the directors. Garden maintenance is year-round work — it keeps going through winter when mowing slows down — so this is a stable, ongoing position.
For an experienced gardener ready to lead, this is a permanent full-time role. If you are a strong gardener still building toward a leadership position, a casual role with a clear pathway to permanent is available. Employment type and rate are based on your experience.
What You'll Be Doing
- Hedging, pruning and shaping to a high standard
- Garden bed maintenance — weeding, mulching, planting
- Whipper snipping, blowing and general garden maintenance
- Weed spraying and chemical handling
- Green-waste clean-ups and small garden projects
- Leading and training an offsider as the crew grows
- Planning and running jobs to the Mowing & Growing standard
- Representing Mowing & Growing to a high standard in front of clients
What We're Looking For
- Proven, hands-on gardening and garden maintenance experience (around three years or more)
- A horticulture qualification is welcome but not essential — proven experience is what matters
- Able to work unsupervised and lead a small crew to a high standard
- Strong eye for detail — hedging, shaping and finish
- Full manual driver's licence (P2 acceptable) — non-negotiable
- Chemical / spray handling experience, or willingness to obtain accreditation — an advantage
- Reliable, professional, and takes pride in the work
- Australian citizen or permanent resident
What We Offer
- Above-award pay, based on experience — paid weekly
- Permanent full-time for an experienced leader — or casual with a clear pathway to permanent
- Year-round, stable work — garden maintenance keeps going through winter
- A genuine leadership seat in an established 20-year family business — not a crew slot in a large contractor
- Local Central Coast work — no long commute to Sydney
- Monday to Friday, early start / early finish, weekends off
- Fully equipped — vehicle, all tools and PPE provided
- A real career path — help build and lead the garden crew as the business grows
- A stable local business operating for over 20 years — we invest in our people and we look after them
