About the role
MERIT (Magistrates Early Referral into Treatment) is a court diversion program that provides the opportunity for suitable local court defendants with drug problems to address their drug use, associated lifestyle and health issues. Engaging with people who are before the court with a history of or current drug use. Providing as part of a multidisciplinary team, assessment and case management that will help to improve their lifestyle and health in an effort to reduce re-offending.
The alcohol and other drugs teamwork for the greater good through an open, flexible and dynamic, strengths-based approach.

This is a Category A position. To be employed by NSW Health you are required to provide evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy (PD2024_015).
Professionals who fall under the Health Professionals State Award must provide evidence of three years’ clinical experience in their profession to be appointed at a Level 2.
