Casual Event Cleaning Supervisor
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Cleaning Supervisor to oversee cleaning operations across a variety of events and contract-based opportunities. This role is hands-on and suited to someone who can confidently lead teams in fast-paced environments while maintaining high standards of presentation, safety, and service delivery.
The successful candidate will have previous cleaning experience, strong leadership capability, and the ability to coordinate and motivate teams to ensure event and venue cleaning requirements are delivered efficiently and professionally.
This position will involve working across varying shifts including early mornings, evenings, weekends, public holidays and event periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead event cleaning teams across allocated venues and sites
- Coordinate staff during bump-in, event operations, and bump-out periods
- Allocate tasks and manage workforce productivity throughout shifts
- Ensure all cleaning activities are completed to required quality standards and timelines
- Monitor presentation and cleanliness of public areas, amenities, back-of-house spaces and operational zones
- Conduct pre-shift briefings and provide clear direction to team members
- Assist with onboarding and training of new staff on procedures and site requirements
- Maintain safe work practices and ensure compliance with WHS requirements
- Manage cleaning equipment and consumables and report shortages or issues
- Respond quickly to operational issues and changing site priorities
- Complete supervisor reports, shift notes and communicate updates to management
- Act as a key point of contact between operations management and on-site staff
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Previous experience in commercial, venue, or event cleaning
- Demonstrated experience leading and supervising teams
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in fast-paced environments
- Hands-on leadership style with willingness to assist on the ground
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Reliable with excellent time management skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks
Desirable:
- Previous event industry experience
- Knowledge of cleaning equipment and chemicals
- Current driver's licence and reliable transport
- First Aid certification
- WHS awareness or safety training experience
