The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Senior Registrar or Registrar (Gastroenterology - Hepatology Fellow) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
Participate in patient history taking, examination and diagnosis, including organising appropriate investigations
partake in research with the aim of completing at least one publication within the year
Advocate for the patient which includes protecting the patient, being the patient's voice, provision of quality care and interpersonal relationship as well as educating the patient
Conduct clinical duties and responsibilities in between those of an advanced gastroenterology trainee and a consultant gastroenterologist
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
A Bachelor of Medicine/ Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or recognised equivalent qualification
AHPRA Registration
Completion of two years of core gastroenterology training and be eligible for medical registration in Australia
Post completion of FRACP in Gastroenterology or equivalent
Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Temporary full time (12 months, commencing in February 2027)
Base salary ranging from $134 489 - $155 125 per annum (Registrar), $170 214 - $187 569 per annum (Senior Registrar)
About Us
The department of Gastroenterology currently has 23 Consultants, 2 Advanced Trainees and 4 Fellow positions. The department has three core subspecialities: Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Endoscopy and Hepatology, along with a comprehensive general Gastroenterology and Nutritional service.
The Endoscopy service works across two facilities; Southport and Varsity Lakes and provides tertiary level services to a catchment population of close to a million. The department currently offers about 15,000 procedures per annum.
