Operating under strict major Tier-1 Main Contractor frameworks, we ensure total compliance across complex field layouts in New South Wales (NSW) and Australian Capital Territory (ACT). We are currently seeking an operationally ready professional to manage our site compliance and safety ecosystems.
Core Tasks & Responsibilities
· HSE Plan Development: Create, implement, and review site-specific safety and environmental plans, including Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS).
· Site Inspections & Auditing: Conduct daily field inspections to identify workplace hazards (physical and chemical) and write clear safety reports.
· Corrective Action Management: Update the site hazard register and ensure all safety issues and corrective actions are closed out on time.
· Pre-Starts & Toolbox Meetings: Lead daily morning Pre-start and weekly Toolbox meetings to brief crews on risks, and train staff on correct PPE use.
· Permit & Checklist Compliance: Check and verify safety permits (Permit to Work, Confined Space, Excavation) and review daily pre-start checklists for excavators and vacuum trucks.
· Excavation Safety: Enforce safety controls for bulk excavations, including shoring, trenching, benching, and soil stability to prevent collapses.
· Asset Protection: Manage Before You Dig Australia (BYDA) checks and run "Permit to Excavate" systems to prevent damage to underground cables.
· Environmental Management: Implement waste disposal plans to minimize workplace pollution, air, water, and noise risks.
· Ergonomic Principles: Organize site offices and vehicle seating to match the physical needs of workers and prevent muscle strain.
· Incident Investigation: Lead root-cause investigations for site injuries or equipment damage, and complete formal incident reports.
· Injury Management: Manage workers' compensation paperwork and coordinate safe return-to-work programs for injured staff.
What You Will Bring
· Total Professional Experience: Minimum of four (4) years of proven, documented experience in professional occupational health and safety (HSE) management roles.
· International Framework Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of international field experience executing health and safety frameworks on major civil, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
· Australian Footprint Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of hands-on field experience specifically within Australian construction projects, demonstrating practical alignment with local safety cultures, AS/NZS ISO 45001, and Tier-1 contractor frameworks.
· License & Certifications: Must hold a current, valid Manual Australian Driving License to travel between operational site footprints, and a valid Australian General Construction Induction Training Card (White Card).
Qualifications / Skills Assessment: Must possess an Australian Diploma of Work Health and Safety (WHS) OR a verified positive VETASSESS Skills Assessment for ANZSCO 251312 (Occupational Health and Safety Adviser) confirming equivalent international qualifications.
What We Offer
· Salary: A stable base salary of AUD 95,000 – AUD 110,000 per annum (Excluding Superannuation), structured in total alignment with market standards.
