About the Role
This is a solid, permanent opportunity for a qualified electrician who enjoys getting their hands on complex industrial equipment. You will be joining a dedicated service team that keeps critical infrastructure running across some of Queensland's most important industries, including Water and Power.
Based in Gladstone, you will split your time between workshop repairs and field service visits, giving you genuine variety in your day-to-day work. You will be trusted to work independently, manage your own priorities, and deliver quality outcomes directly to customers.
This role suits someone who takes pride in technical accuracy, communicates well with clients, and wants a stable, long-term position with a team that invests in your ongoing development through training and qualifications.
What You'll Be Doing
- Diagnosing faults, repairing, testing, and modifying equioment in the workshop
- Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance.
- Performing mechanical and electrical installations, including retrofit adaptions of components.
- Reading and interpreting electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics to guide your work
- Completing accurate technical reports for each job
- Attending training courses to build qualifications and stay current with industry standards
What You'll Need (Essential)
- Current QLD Electrician Licence (mandatory)
- Full, valid driver's licence
- Solid understanding of basic electronics, electrical theory
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics
- Competence with common test and calibration tools
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines
Nice to Have
- Hands-on experience with industrial valves, actuators, or digital control systems
