Counsellor Level 1/2: $38.51 - $54.94 per hour
Psychologist: $40.57 - $59.38 per hour
Occupational Therapist or Social Worker Level 1/2: $38.51 - $54.94 per hour

The Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District Alcohol and Other Drugs service offers free, non-judgemental services and treatments for drug and/or alcohol use, including information and support for families. Our service offers specialist drug and alcohol doctors, nurses and allied health staff who respect the client's right to choose from a range of treatments offered with our services underpinned by a philosophy of harm reduction.
An exciting opportunity is available for a skilled and motivated Community Drug & Alcohol Service (CDAS) Clinician to join the multidisciplinary team based at Hawkesbury Community Health Centre.
In this community-based role, you will deliver evidence‑based alcohol and other drug (AOD) interventions to individuals experiencing substance use issues and related Psychosocial complexity. You will work collaboratively with consumers, families, and partner services to support recovery‑oriented, person‑centred care.
We are seeking a compassionate and capable Clinician who is committed to improving outcomes for people with substance use issues in a community setting. You value collaboration, reflective practice, and culturally safe care. This role will see you deliver comprehensive AOD assessments, treatment planning, and therapeutic interventions, provide individual Counselling and relapse prevention strategies using evidence‑based approaches and work within a harm minimisation and recovery‑oriented framework.

What you will bring to the role
- Tertiary qualifications, professional registration/membership and significant clinical experience as follows: i) Occupational Therapy: minimum Bachelor Degree and general registration with AHPRA; with clinical experience in a Drug and Alcohol treatment setting or ii) Social Work: minimum Bachelor Degree and eligibility for membership of AASW; with clinical experience in a Drug and Alcohol treatment setting or iii) Minimum AQF level 7 qualification recognised or accredited by the Peak Body (PACFA) with eligibility for membership as a counsellor with PACFA or iv)Generalist Psychologist - a four year degree in psychology, being a three year degree with a fourth year honours in psychology; or who has qualifications deemed equivalent by the employer, and has full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia with clinical experience in a Drug and Alcohol treatment setting.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively build relationships with all stakeholders, plan and organise, provide clinical reasoning skills.
- Demonstrated ability to provide evidence-based drug & alcohol psychosocial: assessment, individual/ group interventions, case management and referral services in a public health setting.
- Evidence of an advanced level of effective communication skills and computer literacy.
- Demonstrated ability to assess, identify, manage and escalate clinical and operational risk within a drug and alcohol treatment setting.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team and detailed knowledge of evidence based clinical handover processes.
- Demonstrated commitment to working and partnering with Aboriginal patients, families and communities as well as improving the health outcomes for socially disadvantaged groups of patients within the local community.
- Current driver's license and willingness to use for work purpose travel.
