Latrobe Regional Health is looking for Data Entry Clerk to join our growing team on a Part Time Ongoing basis (Multiple Postions avaliable).
The Data Entry Clerk plays an important role within Patient Services Unit, providing efficient and accurate data entry to Latrobe Regional Health’s patient administration systems. The position supports the effective management of the planned surgery preparation list by coordinating patient information, generating correspondence, and ensuring theatre bookings are timely and accurate. This role contributes to smooth patient flow, high-quality service delivery, and positive experiences for patients, families and staff across Surgical Services.

The role of the Data Entry Clerk is to:

Provide accurate and timely data entry into LRH’s patient administration system, including allocation of patient MRN numbers.

Coordinate waiting list and planned surgery preparation list activities, including theatre bookings and generation of letters in line with Department of Health guidelines.

Collect, collate and maintain relevant patient documentation and undertake general clerical duties such as filling, typing, taxing and photocopying.

Deliver customer-focused services by greeting patients, visitors and staff professionally, responding to phone enquiries and working collaboratively with team.

Process patient admissions, discharges, transfers and post-admission requirements, ensuring patient information is accurate and complete.

Contribute to continuous improvement through reviewing work practices, providing service improvement suggestions and adhering to LRH policies, safety and quality standards.
About you
Ideal candidates for this role will have:

Experience using Microsoft Office applications and confidence with data entry tasks.

Experience in customer service and working effectively in a busy environment with minimal supervision.

Attention to detail and the ability to ensure patient information is accurate and appropriately managed.

Adaptability, compassion, empathy and respect when working with patients, families and colleagues.
-
Experience in healthcare setting, familiarity with Patient Management Systems (IPM), medical terminology and electronic medical records (desirable).
