We are looking for a qualified, multi-skilled Maintenance Electrician to join Ridley AgriProducts at our Lara site. If you have hands-on maintenance experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, we want to hear from you.

The Role
HS&E
- Adhering to clear HSE requirements in line with Ridley policy, standards and procedures.
- Adhere to all Site Safety Procedures whilst undertaking maintenance tasks and all site safety documentation is completed as required
- All electrical works comply with Australian New Zealand Wiring Rules (AS/NZS 3000) & “RIDLEY Lara Site Electrical Standards”
- Ensures regulatory compliance of installed equipment and systems and maintenance activities are maintained relevant to their discipline.
- Supports team safety performance
- Be familiar with requirements for Safety Management systems (principally Safety Critical and integrity) and (as applicable) are in place and applied as per the Ridley SMS requirements.
- Participate in Safe Work Reviews, HAZOP’s, Risk assessments as necessary.
- Provide input into incident investigations and complete assigned action items with appropriate priority (as required);
- Support resolution of Electrical related Risk Management items.
- Participate in Safety conversation and audits to drive continuous improvement of site safety. Demonstrate visible HS&E leadership.
- Supports relevant Management of Change processes for the Maintenance Team.
- Plant Hygiene – sanitation and cleaning of plant and machinery in accordance with policy and procedures to ensure that the required standard of cleanliness and overall hygiene is always maintained
PEOPLE & PROCEDURES
- Develop and maintain professional working relationships with tradespeople, contractors shift operators, shift supervisors, engineers and plant management.
- Support development and use of up-to-date procedures essential for safe operation and maintenance of equipment & facilities are in place and available to personnel. This includes data library and technical information as relevant to accompany documentation revisions (writing, reviewing, modifying);
- Ensuring that performance and safety standards for inspection and maintenance are adhered to for own work and any contractors working under their direction (relevant to discipline);
- Participate in business improvement culture change programs.
- In line with the Enterprise Agreement, the role will be expected to work overtime as requested to ensure plant operation continues and attend Call Backs as required – the ability and preparedness to work overtime or Call Backs is an inherent requirement of all Maintenance roles.
- Any other responsibilities and/or authorities as specifically designated by Site Manager or Delegate.
- Some weekend work and over time will be required for call outs to repair breakdowns
BUSINESS PLAN & DELIVERY
- Provide input to improvements and initiatives deemed necessary to adapt Ridley maintenance delivery to meet changes in industry standards or to align with outside best practice and future directions;
- Assist with continuous improvement through identification and reporting of improvement opportunities through seeking strategies and improvements to reduce equipment downtime and failures and extend on stream times.
- Reporting of non-conformances - any abnormal events relating to product quality, safety and/or plant maintenance must be reported to Supervisors and/or Site Management immediately
ASSET RELIABILITY
- Achieve maintenance and manufacturing objectives by carrying out maintenance and repairs as needed, utilising a range of diagnostic tools.
- Complete planned works as per the site computerized maintenance management system and as directed by site planning and supervision.
- Identifying and reporting maintenance issues in relation to plant, equipment and accessories which includes making recommendations for replacement or improvements on systems and processes
- Completing appropriate documentation and updating records, prepare reports of a technical nature on specific tasks as required
- Conduct preventative maintenance, modification and repairs on all general plant and equipment within the employee’s skills and competence
- Attending break downs as a matter of urgency (as directed and/or aligned with site prioritisation)
- Providing technical guidance and diagnostic advice to staff as part of the working team environment (relevant to discipline)
- Inventory Management – support identification of required supplies and spare parts, and stocktaking activities in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures. Ensure all inventory items are stored safely and maintained in working order and issue processes are followed.
PROJECTS
- Where relevant to maintenance, support design, execution and commissioning of projects for Maintenance and Engineering teams.
You will have
- Sound knowledge of OH&S and Environmental Policies and Legislation.
- Current Drivers and Forklift licence.
- Sound computer skills
- Microsoft Office and AX programs.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Effective communication skills.
- Maintenance experience
- Ability to work as an individual and cooperatively as part of a team
- Commitment to continuous improvement – in terms of both skill development and work performance
- 5+years industry experience working with manufacturing and maintenance teams
- Trade Qualification, Indentured Trade Certificate in Electrical Fitting or Electrical Mechanic
- ‘A’ Class Electrical Licence
- Basic capabilities on instrumentation, Allen Bradley PLC’s & Drives and SCADA. Including at a minimum to read PLC Ladder diagrams and/or PLC Code
- Post Trade Qualifications in Basic Electronics
- Current class ‘C’ Drivers Licence
- Demonstrated experience in manufacturing/process environment
- Fault finding experience in control (relay logic, PLC digital & analogue)
- Basic VSD setup experience
- Motor testing knowledge
- Understand wiring diagrams/ladder diagrams
- Basic PLC understanding; wiring and reading programs
- Basic instrumentation understanding; setup and signals
