About the Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre

We are a client-centred organisation, supporting the community throughout Barwon, Wimmera, and the South West regions, offering a range of specialist support services to people impacted by sexual and family violence, encompassing 24 hour crisis care, specialist response services, early intervention programs, Victims Assistance Program, Community Legal Services, trauma recovery programs, professional training and primary prevention initiatives.

Job Description

About The Role

The SIT cluster is the first point of contact for the assessment of adults, young people, children and families who have experienced family violence and for vulnerable families needing support in relation to the safety and well-being of children. The SIT cluster brings together practitioners with specific areas of expertise to provide an integrated, informed, timely, high quality and thorough triage response to referrals to the Orange Door. The SIT Team Leader role provides leadership toward service excellence, together with knowledge of systems development to deliver a streamlined SIT process and system. The role contributes to the development of quality systems and processes that support consistent and high quality service delivery. The role is responsible for enabling and building collaboration and responsive engagement with our partner organisations within The Orange Door and with other professionals, individuals and families.

Key Selection Criteria

Essential Qualifications and Experience

Your application must address the following:

Degree or above qualification in social work, psychology or similar discipline.
Minimum four years’ relevant practice experience post qualification.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

Demonstrated ability to lead people and teams, including providing supervision, coaching/ mentoring, performance management and recruitment and selection of staff.
A strong practice framework and experience in working from a person centred, strengths based framework, including a gender analysis, understanding of child safety and well-being,

working with vulnerable families, engaging with perpetrators, crisis intervention, risk assessment and human rights.

Strong knowledge and experience in working with the dynamics and effects of interpersonal trauma on children and adults, including family members and friends.
Ability to working systemically with a multi-disciplinary team; drawing on the specialist knowledge and skills of the respective practitioners and building a collaborative team

approach.

Strong capability to think strategically to work with the Orange Door Leadership team to develop, review and implement efficient processes; together with experience in leading

change, or implementing new initiatives aligned with the Orange Door organisational goals.

Demonstrated ability to engage and partner collaboratively with stakeholders, including communicating and negotiating with a range of professionals across multiple systems.
Demonstrated understanding of Orange Door performance requirements and the ability to maintain accurate and confidential client records, statistical data and reporting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to navigate and influence practice across complex systems.
Proven resilience and the ability to prioritise competing demands.
Experience in implementing and leading people through change.
Well-developed emotional intelligence, including self-awareness.
Commitment to a learning culture and continuous quality improvement.
Competent in key components of Microsoft Office applications combined with the ability to learn and adapt to new information technology systems.

Period of Appointment

This position is ongoing subject to funding

Hours of work

The position is 1.0 FTE full time
Location of the position is at the Barwon Orange Door, Geelong
Hours will usually be worked during business hours of 9.00am to 5.06 pm between Monday to Friday.
The days are based on the needs of the service.
Flexibility in working hours will be required from time to time as the need arises.

Salary and Conditions

Annual salary range is as a Specialist Family Violence Practitioner classification, Level 7 Pay Point 1-3 plus superannuation. Salary will be commensurate with experience and skills.

Industrial Instrument: The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre Enterprise Agreement 2023.

Salary Packaging: Provided via Maxxia. PBI status with other expenses available to package above this cap. The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre is a Public Benevolent Institution.

Superannuation: The employer will also make superannuation payments on your behalf in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee (Administration) Act 1992.

Probationary Period – 6 months with a review conducted during this time.
