About the role
Join Barwon Health as a Dermatology Unaccredited Registrar, gaining broad exposure across inpatient and outpatient dermatology, including general dermatology, surgery, wound care, paediatric MDT, laser and vulval dermatology clinics .
Our department services the entire Western Victoria catchment and is the only public dermatology service between Adelaide and Sunshine. Accordingly, we see an extremely diverse demographic and dermatology case mix. We are one of the very few health services which provide adult and paediatric dermatology clinics. Our other distinguishing qualities include: a multidisciplinary vulval clinic, supervised surgery list, public laser clinic available to children and adults, and complex wound clinic. Additionally, we have a robust in-patient consult service.
Key responsibilities
- Provide clinical care for Dermatology patients in the outpatient setting.
- Receive inpatient referrals within hours and provide care to these patients semi-independently
- Organise infusions for patients in medical day HUB
- Present cases at multidisciplinary meetings
- Coordinate investigations and document clinical findings accurately
- Participate in research & quality improvement projects
What we’re looking for
- Medical practitioner with at least 2 years recent clinical experience eligible for appointment as a Dermatology Unaccredited Registrar
- Demonstrated interest in Dermatology
- Strong clinical, communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
