Full Job Description

Position Title: Remote Community Administration Support Officer.

This is an exclusive Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander position.

Location: Travel throughout remote Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory
Employment Type: Casual/contractor/sub-contractor/freelance

About the Role

I am seeking a friendly, organised, and adaptable Administration Support Officer to join me delivering health care services to remote Aboriginal communities across the Northern Territory.

This is a unique opportunity to combine administration, customer service, and community engagement while travelling to some of Australia's most remote and culturally significant regions.

The work is only 2 weeks every quarter, perfect for those who are already casual or contract workers looking for a bit of extra money and change of scenary. All flights and accommodation is paid for, including the interstate flights from Perth to Darwin.

Key Responsibilities

Welcoming patients and assisting with clinic check-in procedures.
Preparing, organising, and processing patient paperwork and records.
Managing appointment lists and supporting clinic administration tasks.
Assisting patients with forms and answering general questions.
Providing a friendly and supportive presence for patients while they wait.
Engaging with community members to help them feel comfortable, relaxed, and valued during their visit.
Supporting the clinical team with general administrative duties throughout the day.
Assisting with clinic setup and pack-down when required.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Enjoys meeting and talking with people from diverse backgrounds.
Displays exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills to spontaneous challenges.
Is patient, compassionate, and genuinely enjoys helping others.
Has strong organisational and administrative abilities.
Can work independently and remain flexible in changing environments.
Is comfortable travelling and staying in remote locations.
Demonstrates cultural awareness and respect when working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Has experience in administration, reception, customer service, healthcare, or community services (preferred but not essential).
