The Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) is Australia's only medical college dedicated to rural and remote medicine. As a member-based organisation, we set the standards and provide the support that keeps doctors working in some of the country's most underserved communities.
This is a senior communications role inside a small, collaborative team — leading projects across the ACRRM Rural Generalist Fellowship Program and our broader membership, working closely with the Marketing and Communications Manager.
What you’ll do
- Lead communications for the ACRRM Rural Generalist Fellowship Program, translating training, assessment and policy changes into clear, actionable messaging for doctors at all stages of training.
- Support communications across broader member-facing and organisational projects as required .
- Develop tailored messaging for different stages of the training pathway, from entry through to Fellowship completion.
- Partner with education and training teams to ensure clarity and consistency across Fellowship communications.
- Provide high-quality writing, editing and guidance to lift team output where needed.
- Support media enquiries and assist with crisis communications when needed.
What you'll bring
- Degree in communications, public relations or related field. 5+ years in a similar communications role. Strong ability to write, edit in clear, plain English across complex topics and audiences. Proven stakeholder relationship management across all levels, including senior executives. Strong critical thinking and confidence providing strategic communications advice. Experienced in crisis or reputation management is highly regarded. Background in general practice, Rural Generalist training, medical education or member-based organisations is a strong advantage.
