Role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Certificate III Parks & Gardens apprenticeship for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to launch a career in horticulture and garden maintenance. If you are passionate about learning, enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions, and thrive in a team environment, this role is for you. You'll be involved in scheduled garden maintenance, seasonal planting, and soft landscape upgrades across Island Leaf and Lawn’s client portfolio.
About You
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Enthusiasm for horticulture and garden maintenance.
- A genuine interest in plants, landscaping, and outdoor maintenance.
- Have a genuine desire to work outdoors in both warm and cool climates
- Confidently be able to carry out work of a physical nature
- Commit to and create good relationships within a team focused environment
- Be an open learner who is willing to follow instructions and develop skills
- Friendly disposition and an eye for detail
- Commit to both on the job and off the job formal training
- Great communication and time management skills
A current police check are mandatory requirements for this position.
What to Expect
You will be required to work Monday to Friday (including 1 day at trade school) within a friendly and supportive team.
As an apprentice of Island Leaf & Lawn you will be a valued employee, provided with an experienced gardener or head horticulturist to support, assist and encourage you in developing a long-term career in this industry.
