We’ve secured justice in landmark matters such as the First Nations Stolen Wages and Stolen Generations class actions, the Ruby Princess class action, and the Johnson & Johnson mesh class actions.

Senior Associate level lawyers to join our Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane CBD-based teams.
Whether you already have class actions experience, or you've built your career in commercial litigation - in a defendant insurance or plaintiff practice - and are looking to apply your skills to large-scale, purpose-driven disputes, this is an opportunity to work on some of Australia's most significant emerging class actions.
As an Associate or Senior Associate, you’ll join multiple significant class actions at their point of commencement, helping shaping case’s strategy and direction while engaging in work that is both intellectually demanding and socially meaningful.
Now, we’re in an exciting new chapter. Class Actions is a strategic priority for Shine, and we have expanded into International Mass Torts (IMT) - a globally focused initiative, positioning Shine at the forefront of cross-border class action litigation. Our model involves sourcing class action litigation opportunities from the US and Europe, and litigating cases in Australia, New Zealand and Thailand. This means you’ll be part of a team that doesn’t just respond to injustice - it anticipates it, shaping the future of plaintiff litigation on a global scale. As part of our expansion, we are preparing to commence several new domestic and international mass torts class actions in Australia.

- Work on cases that challenge powerful corporations, institutions and governments, from medical product liability and environmental claims to shareholder and consumer actions.
- Collaborate with litigation funders, global partners, and a multidisciplinary team to develop strategies that set new benchmarks for plaintiff law.
- Mentor and lead junior lawyers and clerks, shaping the next generation of class actions specialists.
What you’ll bring
- Admission as a solicitor in Australia.
- Experience practising in class actions, commercial litigation, disputes, regulatory investigations or other complex litigation matters.
- Ability to manage matters with increasing autonomy and exercise strong legal judgement.
- Deep understanding of relevant legislation and procedural frameworks.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to shape litigation approaches and manage risk.
- Strong legal and commercial acumen.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
- A commitment to innovation, continuous learning and development.
