About the Company

Smart Electric Group Pty Ltd is a reputable electrical contracting business based in Heatmont, VIC 3135, delivering high-quality electrical services across residential, commercial and light industrial sectors, focusing on renewable energies, offering solar power and battery storages solutions. We pride ourselves on providing reliable workmanship, maintaining the highest safety standards, and delivering practical electrical solutions tailored to our clients’ needs. Due to continued business growth, we are seeking a qualified and experienced Electrician to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

· Installing, testing, commissioning, maintaining and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, switchboards, distribution boards, lighting systems, power circuits and associated electrical infrastructure.

· Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, specifications and technical plans to determine installation requirements and ensure compliance with project specifications.

· Diagnosing electrical faults using appropriate testing instruments, identifying defective components and carrying out repairs in accordance with Australian Standards.

· Installing and terminating electrical cables, conduits, cable trays and associated fittings in residential, commercial and industrial environments.

· Testing completed electrical installations to verify safety, functionality and compliance with applicable electrical regulations and standards.

· Performing preventative maintenance and routine inspections of electrical systems and equipment to minimise downtime and ensure operational reliability.

· Installing, servicing and repairing electrical control systems, circuit protection devices and associated equipment.

· Ensuring all electrical work complies with relevant Australian Standards, the National Construction Code, workplace health and safety legislation, and company procedures.

· Preparing service reports, maintenance records, testing documentation and other job-related records accurately and in a timely manner.

· Liaising professionally with clients, supervisors, contractors and other trades to coordinate work activities and ensure projects are completed efficiently.

· Maintaining electrical tools, testing equipment and work vehicles in a safe and serviceable condition.

· Identifying workplace hazards, implementing appropriate risk controls and maintaining a safe work environment at all times.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this role, you should possess:

· Tertiary qualification in electrical-related fields preferred.

· 1 -2 years of relevant post-qualification experience as an Electrician.

· Sound knowledge of electrical systems, electrical testing procedures and fault-finding techniques.

· Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams and technical documentation.

· Strong understanding of Australian electrical standards, safety regulations and industry best practices.

· Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.

· Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

· Effective communication and organisational skills.

· Current Australian Driver Licence (preferred).
