What you'll be doing

A Technical officer in Sleep medicine is responsible for the provision of high quality patient care. They are expected to possess knowledge in the procedures, methodology and theory pertaining to sleep study testing and take responsibility for routine diagnostic and treatment (including CPAP and
non-invasive ventilation) tests performed.
A Sleep Technologist is required to work on a casual basis as required by the operation or demand of the position. This might include on-call availability to ensure effective service delivery.

Responses to the questions below:

A qualification in Science or Health related field
Previous or current hospital experience working within the field of Sleep Medicine
Clear understanding of AASM scoring guidelines, ability to follow centre specific scoring guidelines
Experience working as a Sleep Technician performing sleep study setup, computerised sleep monitoring, and PAP titration of patients overnight
Experience with initiation and management of patients on CPAP and non-invasive ventilation therapy within the home setting
Excellent communication, time management and organisational skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision and with other team members and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Previous experience working with children and families would be preferable
