Full Job Description

The graduate, fulltime position is based in our Newcastle/Central Coast Office. This role requires the applicant to have a strong understanding of the principles of structural and civil engineering. The primary role of the Graduate Engineer will be to assist the Senior Engineers in preparing structural documentation for projects such as new residential/commercial developments, renovations/additions, swimming pool and retaining wall projects which will involve you to take and understand instructions, work under minimal supervision, present calculations and documentation in a clear and concise manner and discuss technical assumptions and decisions. The role will require working from the office as well as fieldwork on an occasional basis for investigations and inspections.

We seek an individual with:

Interest in structural engineering.
Graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours from an Australian University.
Excellent report writing and communication skills, including communicating with clients.
Well-developed problem-solving skills.
Show initiative.
Take and follow instructions.
Ability to work independently under minimal supervision and as part of a team.
Present calculations and documentation in a clear and concise manner.
Pride in their work.
Attention to detail is essential.
AutoCAD experience.
Understanding of current Australian Standards and the Building Code of Australia.
Driver’s license.
