Public Practice Administrator
Accounting & Client Services
Location: Penrith NSW 2750, Australia | Employment Type: Full time
Do you find genuine satisfaction in supporting people, building trust with business owners, and being someone clients can always rely on? Are you drawn to working across a variety of businesses, forming meaningful long-term relationships, and using technology thoughtfully to deliver an outstanding client experience? If this sounds like you, we'd love to meet you.
We're looking for a warm, proactive and highly organised professional to join our team. You don't need an accounting background — we have a skilled technical team who take care of the tax, compliance and technical work.
What we need is someone who can take genuine ownership of client relationships, keep workflow moving smoothly, and make sure every client feels valued, informed and well cared for throughout their journey with us.
Who We Are
At Progress Chartered Accountants, we're committed to helping our clients turn their business goals into reality. Built on hard work, care and a genuine belief in what our clients are capable of, we're a Penrith-based firm that takes real pride in seeing our clients succeed.
We work alongside businesses across a broad range of industries, and we invest in the growth of our people. Bring the right attitude and a willingness to learn, and we'll support you with the rest.
About the Role:
This isn't a technical accounting role — you won't be preparing tax returns or working through spreadsheets. Instead, you'll be the trusted, familiar face for a portfolio of clients, responsible for:
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships and communication
- Coordinating workflow between clients and our accounting team
- Managing deadlines, priorities and deliverables across your portfolio
- Helping clients understand our processes and keeping them informed at every step
- Supporting our Partners and Managers with client engagement and service delivery
- Contributing to stronger internal processes and ways of working
- Nurturing long-term, trust-based relationships with business owners across many industries
If you take pride in ownership, enjoy keeping things organised, and find fulfilment in helping people feel genuinely supported, this role will suit you well.
Your Day-to-Day
- Manage day-to-day client communication with warmth and professionalism
- Coordinate workflow between our internal team and accountants
- Track deadlines and compliance calendars to keep everything on schedule
- Look for ways to improve processes and introduce better ways of working
- Support Partners and Managers with client updates and follow-ups
- Make use of cloud-based systems and tools to work efficiently
- Build lasting, trusted relationships with business owners across a diverse client base
What You'll Gain
- A clear pathway toward senior client management, practice management or advisory roles
- Hands-on training in workflow coordination, accounting fundamentals and client support
- Exposure to a wide range of industries, businesses and business owners
- A supportive, close-knit team culture that values initiative and continuous growth
- The opportunity to make a genuine, lasting impact on both our clients and our firm
What We're Looking For
- A warm communicator with a genuine gift for building relationships
- Highly organised, with strong ownership of deadlines and priorities
- Comfortable learning new systems and technology
- A thoughtful problem-solver who follows through on commitments
- Someone who enjoys a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Experience in client service, account management, operations, coordination or administration
- A genuine passion for helping business owners succeed
What matters most to us is your attitude, care for clients, and willingness to learn.
