This is a maternity relief position and should the permanent incumbent require an early return from maternity leave, this contract of employment will cease with two week’s notice. Maternity relief positions can be for a period of up to 12 months, with the possibility of continued employment for up to a further 12 months for maternity leave reduced hours, therefore there are no claims to permanency.

About the Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and passionate temporary part-time Senior Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist Level 3 in Lymphoedema to join our team at the Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD), effective until May 2027.
This role presents an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to deliver high-quality, evidence-informed physiotherapy care to patients, their families, and caregivers as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will play a key role in enhancing clinical practice and service delivery while providing leadership and mentorship to junior staff and students.
This position will be part of the Lymphoedema Prevention & Early Intervention program on the Central Coast. As a Senior Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist level 3, you will provide advanced, evidence-informed clinical care to patients, families, and carers while leading and mentoring other physiotherapy staff and students. Your role will influence service delivery, enhance patient outcomes, and support continuous improvement.
In this role you will:

Provide high-level physiotherapy or occupational therapy care for complex cases requiring advanced practice skills.

Exercise independent professional judgement to solve problems and manage challenging cases.

Identify, implement, and evaluate initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of clinical services.

Supervise and mentor Level 1/2 physiotherapists or occupational therapists, allied health assistants, and students.

Ensure care delivery aligns with professional, legal, ethical, and evidence-based standards.

About You
We are looking for someone who has:
-
Qualifications in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy with current AHPRA registration.

Level 1 Lymphoedema qualification (or higher), or willingness to obtain within six months, or equivalent extensive experience.

Demonstrated experience managing acute, chronic, and complex lymphoedema presentations using advanced clinical reasoning and decision-making skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including providing education, advice, and clinical supervision.

Commitment to evidence-informed practice, continuous improvement, and leading service or team initiatives within a specialist clinical area.

Strong organisational and time management skills, a current unrestricted driver’s licence, and willingness to travel across the District as required.
