About the role:
We’re excited to announce that our Residential Care program has expanded in Emerald, with a new home opened in 2026. This means we have opportunities for Casual Residential Support Workers to join our team!
As a Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in creating a safe, structured, and supportive environment for young people—helping them feel secure and valued both in our homes and in the community.
What will a typical day look like?
- Shift work
- Engage with young people to support them in all aspects of life, both in the home and wider community.
- Implement strategies identified in the care plan and participate in review of care plans to ensure young people have clear, relevant, and achievable goals.
- Support planned contact and connectedness to family as approved by child safety services.
- Support social, recreational, educational and health activities for young people in line with their individual care plan.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention/Community Services or working toward this qualification (proof of enrolment required).
Alternative qualifications or working towards:
- Certificate IV in Mental Health, Community Services or Youth Work
- Diploma in Behavioural Science, Counselling, Nursing or Mental Health

- A strong communicator, able to quickly build rapport and influence across a diverse range of people.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to obtain a Blue Card (working with children check positive notice or exemption)
- Ability to obtain a Yellow Card (disability services positive notice or exemption notice)
