Full Job Description

Stihl Shop Emerald are looking for a Small Engine Mechanic to join our busy workshop in Emerald, Central QLD.

We are a family owned business that specializes in the sale and service of Stihl outdoor power products such as chainsaws and brush cutters. We also have a range of zero turn and ride-on mowers, and we are agents for CFMoto buggies and quads.

The duties typically required include:

Maintaining, testing and repairing engines of chainsaws, ride on lawn mowers, quads, buggies and other equipment with small engines.
Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts
Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking parts
Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals and illustrated parts lists (IPL’s) as needed
Identifying and requisitioning replacement parts to order
Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations
Reassembling engines and parts after being repaired
Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance diagnosing and testing parts with the assistance of computers

The successful applicant must hold a minimum Certificate III / Trade Qualification or minimum 3-year on the job experience in a similar environment. Must also hold a Drivers License.

You will be reliable, able to work as both part of a team and independently, and take pride in your work.

Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
