JOB OPPORTUNITIES

Trainer and Assessor

1. Wall and Floor Tiling

2. Solid Plastering

As a Trainer and Assessor, you will deliver high-quality training and assessment to students across

classroom, practical workshop, and workplace-based environments.

The Trainer and Assessor play an important role in ensuring training is delivered to a high standard,

aligned with industry requirements, compliant with RTO standards, and supportive of positive

student outcomes. The role also involves student engagement, assessment marking, record keeping,

industry currency, and contribution to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

This role will require the trainer to deliver training and assessment in across practical and theory-

based learning environments.

Key responsibilities include:

Prepare and facilitate compliant, industry-aligned training sessions.

Deliver practical and classroom-based training to students.

Assess student competency and provide timely, constructive feedback.

Support students to develop practical trade skills and industry knowledge.

Maintain accurate training and assessment records.

Ensure assessment evidence meets RTO and training package requirements.

Participate in assessment validation, moderation, and continuous improvement activities.

Build positive relationships with students, employers, and internal team members.

Maintain current industry skills, vocational competency, and professional development records.

Follow all workplace health and safety requirements during practical training sessions.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Trade qualification in Wall and Floor Tiling, Solid Plastering, or equivalent.

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40122, TAE40116, or equivalent.

Relevant and current industry experience.

Experience delivering training and assessment in the VET sector is highly regarded.

Strong knowledge of training package requirements and competency-based assessment.

Good communication, organisation, and learner support skills.

Ability to deliver both theory and practical training sessions.

Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate assessment records.

Confidence using LMS, student management systems, and basic Microsoft Office applications.

Additional Requirements

Valid Australian working rights.

Commitment to ongoing professional development and compliance training.

Ability to follow RTO policies, procedures, and WHS requirements.

Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $45.00 – $59.80 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
