We are looking for a reliable and conscientious Maintenance Fitter/Welder to join our ER Country West team based at the East Guyong Quarry Workshop, located approximately halfway between Orange & Bathurst on the Mitchell Highway.
As a Maintenance Fitter /Welder with Heidelberg Materials Australia, you will be responsible for supporting maintenance work on both Quarries and Concrete Plants throughout the Central West NSW region.
Your day will start around 5 :30 am and wrap up around 3 pm, Monday to Friday, but there is overtime available, including Saturday work. This is a full-time position, and reports into the Quarry Manager.
Maintenance works may range from programmed maintenance schedules, shutdowns, reactive maintenance tasks, which will encompass fabrication, organisation of resources and supervising and conducting repairs.
This role will support and ensure work is done proficiently, within commercial time frames, and in adherence to Heidelberg Materials policies and directives.
In your new role, you will:
Perform daily fixed plant inspections, identify & repair faults on Quarry and Concrete Plant sites
Ensure all plant and equipment is operating well within the statutory requirements
Ensure adequate records are maintained and report all incidents
Advise on and implement improvements that can be made to maintenance tasks and processes or plant performance
Ensure workshop stock levels of components and consumables are maintained to support the scheduled/planned work
Assist with plant housekeeping activities, maintain a clean & safe workshop environment. (5S Housekeeping Standards)
This role is a great fit for you, if:
You have Quarry / Mining / Concrete Industry experience (preferred)
You have previous mechanical fitting experience (preferred)
You have a trade qualification in Welding/Boilermaker or similar (essential)
You have an understanding of Australia Guarding Standards (advantageous)
You enjoy analysing and troubleshooting issues and problems and make informed decision on how best to move forward
You enjoy working autonomously and enjoy variety in your work
You maintain a continuous improvement mindset and hold a commitment to high standards of safety and compliance
