Cement Australia has an opportunity for a Mine Operator to join the production team at our East End Mine. Established in 1981, the East End open cut limestone and clay mine is located just outside of Gladstone, seven kilometres from Mt Larcom. East End supplies raw materials to our Fisherman’s Landing plant via rail and produces more than 2.5 million tonnes of clay and limestone annually.
Reporting to the Mine Team Leader, the Mine Operator position is a multi-skilled operator role utilising varied pieces of mobile and fixed equipment. This is a permanent full-time role, with immediate start.
Your Opportunity
As a Mine Operator you will:
- Operate and monitor a range of mobile and fixed plant equipment safely and efficiently.
- Complete pre-start inspections and carry out basic maintenance, repairs, and routine reporting on equipment condition and safety performance.
- Participate in toolbox meetings and keep a high standard of housekeeping to maintain a safe and compliant work area.
- Work independently and part of a team to support production targets.
- Work to site procedures and comply with the QLD Mining and Quarrying Safety & Health Act and Regulations.
Roster
- Rotating 5/4/5 Day / night shift (even time roster)
- Night shift coverage when required
What You’ll Bring
To be considered for this opportunity, you will have:
- Certification and experience in Rigid Haul Truck / Water Truck (HD465 & 775G), Front End Loader (990K)
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work to a plan
It is desirable that you also have:
- Certification and experience in an excavator (PC850)
- Crushing plant experience
- High Risk Licences (e.g. Forklift)
- Experience with stacker / reclaimer systems, and rail loadouts.
- Mining, quarrying, or civil construction experience.
