Fossung Multicultural and Education Services Inc. (FMAES) is a registered not-for-profit organisation supporting students and families from multicultural and refugee backgrounds across Logan and Ipswich. We deliver accessible, high-quality tutoring and learning support to help students build confidence, skills, and positive educational pathways.

About the Role

We are seeking tutors to support secondary school students through one-to-one and small-group tutoring sessions. Tutors will work with students in Mathematics, delivering structured, student-centred lessons in a supportive and inclusive environment.

This role is ideal for qualified teachers, pre-service teachers, university students, or experienced tutors who are passionate about education and community impact.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver tailored tutoring sessions aligned with the Australian Curriculum
Support students with homework, assessment preparation, and core skill development
Build positive learning relationships with students from diverse cultural backgrounds
Provide encouragement, feedback, and academic guidance
Communicate student progress and needs with FMAES coordinators
Maintain child-safe and professional standards at all times

Skills and Experience

Strong knowledge in at least one core secondary subject (Maths, English, Science preferred)
Ability to explain concepts clearly and adapt to different learning needs
Positive, patient, and culturally responsive approach
Previous tutoring or teaching experience is desirable but not essential

Current Working With Children Check (Blue Card) or willingness to obtain
