As our Waste Contract and Collection Coordinator, you’ll own the day-to-day coordination that keeps kerbside organics, recycling and general waste collections running smoothly across the local government area. You’ll be out in the field and in the office, leading people, supporting contractors, solving customer issues, and driving practical improvements that lift service outcomes for residents and businesses. This is a hands-on role with real autonomy and plenty of opportunity to grow.

You’ll make an impact by:

Coordinating daily collection operations scheduling collection trucks, bulky waste clean-ups, transfer station bin changes and street litter bin servicing across the region
Leading and supporting a distributed operational team (and contractors), ensuring resources (plant, labour and materials) are in place and work gets done safely and efficiently
Managing contractor performance and contract delivery, ensuring services meet specifications and resolving issues collaboratively
Keeping Council’s waste collection assets performing at their best, coordinating proactive repairs and replacement of trucks, bins and facilities, including rural transfer stations.
Providing a steady, solutions-focused point of contact for residents, businesses and internal stakeholders, resolving issues and complaints efficiently and on time.

What you'll bring

To thrive in this role, you will need:

Certificate IV in Waste Management, Logistics, Leadership & Management, Business or equivalent experience
Demonstrated experience in waste collection, contract management and/or freight logistics.
Proven customer service focus with staff coordination/people leadership capability.
Strong admin capability (literacy/numeracy) and competent computer skills, including email and Microsoft Office.
Demonstrated geographical/spatial awareness skills to support efficient service coordination across the region

We would also love you to have:

HR driver licence.
Experience using TRIM and Authority

This position offers an attractive annual salary ranging from $88,171 to $102,468.
