We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Painter and Decorator to join our professional team in Dubbo, NSW. Key Requirements & Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Minimum of a Certificate III in Painting and Decorating (or equivalent international qualification).
- Experience: A minimum of 4+ years of relevant work experience in the painting industry.
- Compliance: Must hold a current Driver’s Licence and White Card. A Working with Children Check (WWCC) must be obtained upon hire.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and specialized equipment.
- Physicality: Stamina to handle standing, bending, lifting, and working comfortably at heights.
Duties and Responsibilities
As a trade-qualified Painter with McNaught Group, you will lead high-quality projects from initial site assessment through to the final coat. Your role involves:
- Advanced Surface Restoration: Execute comprehensive substrate preparation, including the removal of old coatings/wallpaper, expert sanding, and the application of specialized primers and sealers to ensure maximum paint adherence and longevity.
- Precision Finishing: Select, mix, and match paints, varnished, shellacs, and enamels. You will apply these finishes to a variety of interior and exterior surfaces, maintaining the high aesthetic standards our clients expect.
- Structural Setup & Site Safety: Safely manage site access by erecting scaffolding, staging, and rigging. You will be responsible for operating securely on ladders and high-reach equipment while strictly adhering to all WHS protocols and White Card standards.
- Technical Repairs & Detail Work: Perform skilled masonry and timber repairs, including filling cracks/joints with specialized putties and caulking. This role also includes minor glazing work and the restoration of wooden and metal window frames. Professional Site Management: Maintain a high standard workspace by protecting client property through meticulous taping and drop-sheet placement. You will manage the removal and re-installation of hardware (fixtures, doorknobs, and covers) to ensure a seamless finish.
- Project Coordination: Work both independently and collaboratively within our team to meet strict project specifications, ensuring every job is completed on time and with exceptional attention to detail.
Pay: $76,800.00 – $90,000.00 per year
