About the role

The Dubbo Safe Haven is a free, non-clinical walk-in centre for people experiencing emotional distress, anxiety, or suicidal thoughts. It offers a welcoming alternative to a hospital emergency department, providing a calm, confidential, and culturally sensitive space to talk or just relax.

The Peer worker will provide individual and group support to consumers by working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to promote engagement of people in their individual treatment and recovery.

The successful applicant will;

Support people who access the service to be actively involved in their own care through information including their rights and responsibilities, how to navigate the mental health system and other information and support as appropriate to their individual needs.
Provide individual and/or group recovery focused care that utilises your personal lived experience of mental health challenges and personal recovery to support people to access the service and engage with their own recovery journey.
