We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Manager (BDM) based in Melbourne to drive new business acquisition across the entire Melbourne metropolitan area and outer regional hubs, offering a competitive base salary plus a performance-linked incentive structure.
Job Overview
- Company: Delica Meat Supply | Premium Meat Wholesaler.
- Target Clients: Executive Chefs, F&B Directors, Venue Owners, Group Buyers, Head Chefs, Owners.
- Territory: Melbourne & Outer Melbourne (No strict territory boundaries).
- Target Accounts: Premium Restaurants, Luxury Hotels, Cafes, Caterers, Pubs, QSR and other(s)
- Remuneration: $80,000 – $120,000 Base (dependent on experience) + Super + Tools of Trade.
- Incentives: Lucrative commission structure unlocked after initial 6-month performance review.
- Location: Field-based (greater Melbourne) with weekly head office reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Uncapped Territory Hunting: Map out and pitch to high-end hospitality venues across Melbourne and outer regions.
- Chef-to-Chef Sales: Build immediate credibility and relationship with Head Chefs, F&B Directors, and Venue Owners.
- Product Presentations: Conduct premium protein tastings, demonstrating product knowledge, product provedores, marble scores, grading systems, and culinary yields.
- On-the-Road Client Acquisition: Manage your own diary to maximize face-to-face field sales visits daily.
- Account Onboarding: Smoothly transition won accounts from initial pitch to consistent, high-volume recurring orders.
- Manage Sales Pipeline: Own the negotiation process from initial cold knock to the first order.
- Hit Revenue Targets: Consistently meet and exceed monthly volume and margin quotas.
- Prepare for Leadership: Mentor junior staff and shadow senior management to prepare to promotion.
What We Are Looking For
- Foodservice Sales Experience: Proven track record selling to commercial kitchens or premium hospitality venues.
- Melbourne Network: Existing, active relationships with local chefs and hospitality decision-makers.
- Meat Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of meat categories, butchery cuts, and grading is highly advantageous.
- Autonomous Drive: A self-motivated "hunter" who thrives without micro-management or rigid territory borders.
- Valid Driver’s License: Required for extensive travel across metropolitan and outer Melbourne.
- Hustle Mentality: A self-motivated closer who thrives on cold-calling and overcoming objections.
