Osiris Funerals is seeking a reliable and practical Handyman to assist with the maintenance, presentation, and upkeep of our facilities, vehicles, equipment, and grounds. This role helps ensure our premises remain safe, clean, respectful, and welcoming for families and visitors.
The main duties include, but are not limited to:
· Perform general building maintenance and repairs.
· Maintain funeral chapels, offices, workshops, and storage areas.
· Undertake painting, minor carpentry, plumbing, and basic electrical maintenance (within qualifications and regulations).
· Maintain gardens, lawns, pathways, fences, and outdoor areas.
· Conduct regular safety inspections and report maintenance issues.
· Set up and pack down equipment for funerals, memorial services, and community events.
· Assist with cleaning and presentation of funeral vehicles and equipment.
· Manage maintenance tools, supplies, and inventory.
· Coordinate with contractors for specialised repairs and maintenance.
· Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements.
· Provide respectful and discreet support around funeral services when required.
The suitable applicant should:
· Experience in general maintenance, building trades, landscaping, or handyman services.
· Ability to use a range of hand and power tools safely.
· Good problem-solving and organisational skills.
· Ability to work independently and manage priorities.
· Current driver's licence.
· Physically fit and capable of manual tasks.
· Professional appearance and respectful manner.
The employer will offer:
· A full-time contract for at least 3 years, extendable for further term.
· An annual salary of $68,000 - $75,000 (negotiable) + superannuation will be offered to the successful candidates with relevant qualification and experience.
