Established to provide high-quality produce to government institutions, private hospital groups, and large-scale commercial and retail clients. MD Fresh Produce Darwin Pty Ltd has built a strong reputation for delivering safe, certified and high quality fresh and processed products.
The company has huge annual turnover and sale is growing significantly. We need in house Accountant responsible for financial compliance and economic growth of the company. The Accountant has to perform the following duties and responsibilities:
1. Directly reporting to the director
2. Responsible for analysing, interpreting and reporting on financial matters
3. Creating company’s financial and audit reports for presentation to the owner
4. Maintain all paper work in order and ensure that financial reports and statements complies with government statutory and company’s audit policies
5. Familiar with recent accounting software’s and suggest business to have efficient computer based accounting system to generate accurate financial reports and to check any financial fraud to maintain financial health of the company
6. Formulation of monthly and financial year ending budget policies and advise on tax liabilities
7. Maintain, and analyse budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs
8. Select, implement and modify accounting systems, making use of current computer technology
9. Preparation of Business Plans, operational plans, financial Plans, Cash Flow Forecasts and Profit Projections, and analyses associated financial risks in new projects
10. Projection of future liabilities and appraisal of cash flow for investment in projects
11. Meet Banks/brokers/financial institutes to Procure finance/loans for the new projects and provide advise to management on best financial deals
12. Analyse operating cost of the business, suggest expenditure budget to keep company in profit
13. Preparation of year-end payment summaries, Profits and loss reports and detailed company financials
14. Preparation of monthly payroll tax and quarterly/annual BAS
15. Preparation of year end statutory accounts, reporting, internal audit and tax requirements
16. Responsible to maintain the financial position of the company, Analysing data collected in order to determine the state of the company’s financial situation
17. Advise management on sale and purchase of businesses to increase company’s financial capacity and increase equity
18. Complies with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions
19. Analysing data to understand where the company is generating and losing revenue and formulate measures to control insolvency
20. Examining the proficiency of the software programs used to organise data
21. Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
22. Advise to the assisting staff to record correct data in computer system to generate accurate budgeting, cash flow and audit reports
23. Ensure that company make legitimate tax and deprecation claims as allowed by tax laws
24. Generating financial reports that display the company’s profits, equity and cash flow
25. Summarizes current financial statements by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other statutory reports.
26. Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
27. Other General accounting duties
Education & Qualifications: Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Accounting or a closely related field
Experience: A minimum of one year of full-time relevant work experience
Remuneration: The full-time position offers an annual salary of $82,500 plus superannuation
Employment Conditions: Employment entitlements will align with the National Employment Standards and relevant Fair Work instruments, as stipulated by the Australian Government.
