Role Responsibilities
You will assist the maintenance team to undertake routine maintenance of generation assets at the Channel Island Power Station
on a day to day basis.
Your accountabilities include:
1. Provide general assistance to trades personnel conducting on-the-ground operations work, including routine plant inspections,
minor equipment isolations, equipment lubrication, routine tests and identification, investigation and where possible
rectification of plant defects.
2. Ensure cleanliness of plant, equipment and vehicles.
3. Pick up spare parts in the Darwin metropolitan area.
4. Assist other non-trade and trades personnel as required.
5. Communicate effectively with key stakeholders from a multi-disciplined workforce (Outage Planners, Operators, Electrical staff,
Contractors etc).
6. Use computerised systems as necessary.
7. Carry out duties in accordance with Territory Generation’s safety, environmental and quality policy, safety principles, corporate
values and strategies.
Selection Criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated ability to provide general assistance to trades and other staff within a heavy industrial environment, in the
undertaking of their duties, including housekeeping and general site maintenance.
2. Demonstrated competence in the area of work place safety and commitment to safe work practices.
3. Sound ability to work in a Permit to Work system that ensures safety to all personnel and ability to work unsupervised yet still
maintain constant interaction with operational staff.
4. Well developed computer literacy
5. Demonstrate an attention to detail and ability to prioritise allocated work to deliver desirable outcomes within designated
timeframes.
6. Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills which result in effective team membership and contribution to work place
objectives.
7. Have an NT driver’s licence and be able to participate in an “On Call” roster
8. Ability to carry out duties in accordance with Territory Generation’s safety, environmental and quality policies and corporate
values and strategies.
Desirable •
1. Current NT High Risk licence, Forklift Bridge Gantry Crane, Non Slewing Mobile Crane and EWP
2. Have undertaken Confined spaces, Work at Heights and First Aid training
3. Sound Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform simple mechanical tasks
