About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and highly organised Client Engagement Officer to join our Age Matters team and play a vital role in supporting vulnerable older people to access the services and assistance they need.

As the first point of contact for many clients, you will provide information, support, and warm referrals while ensuring a positive and empowering experience for people navigating aged care and community support systems.

This is a full-time maximum-term contract position ending 30 June 2027, offers an opportunity to combine your customer service, administration, and community services experience in a role that genuinely improves lives.

Be the first point of contact for Age Matters, responding to enquiries and conducting eligibility triage.
Provide compassionate, person-centred support that promotes dignity, respect, choice, and client empowerment.
Facilitate warm referrals to appropriate services and escalate complex matters when required.
Deliver high-quality administrative support for Age Matters programs.
Maintain accurate client records, documentation, and data collection requirements.
Work closely with Case Coordinators and team members to support seamless client journeys.
Assist in monitoring service effectiveness and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Develop and maintain relationships with referral partners and community service providers.
Participate in training, professional development, reflective practice, and sector events.
Contribute to service improvement initiatives, community engagement activities, fundraising, and events.
Ensure compliance with organisational policies, privacy requirements, and workplace health and safety obligations.

To Be Successful You Will Have

Qualification in Community Services, Individual Support (Ageing), or equivalent industry experience.
Experience supporting older people, socially isolated individuals, or people experiencing complex health, housing, financial, or care-related challenges.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with a genuine person-centred approach.
Ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with vulnerable clients.
Experience managing enquiries, referrals, and administrative processes in a high-volume environment.
Excellent written communication and record-keeping skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information appropriately.
Sound organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and client management systems.
Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Desirable: Understanding of aged care, community services, health, or support sectors.
Desirable: Knowledge of trauma-informed practice.
