We are seeking multiple experienced Structural Steel Boilermakers / Welders / Fabricators to join our growing team in Dandenong South. This permanent role supports the continued success of our project management and fabrication operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing blueprints, technical drawings and project specifications.
- Selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock, fabrication tools and equipment.
- Cutting marked-out steel sections and components using appropriate hand tools, cutting equipment and metal fabrication machinery.
- Rolling, bending, shaping, heating and hammering metal components to fabricate parts and subassemblies.
- Aligning steel parts and components using measuring instruments and fabrication tools prior to joining.
- Performing welding, bolting and riveting at assemble structural steel components.
- Inspecting welds and fabricated components for accuracy, quality and compliance with specifications.
- Finishing products though cleaning, polishing, filing and other required finishing processes.
- Cleaning and smoothing welds using grinding, chiselling and filling techniques.
- Following all Work Health and Safety procedures, including correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Applying relevant Australian Standards, legislation and industry regulations.
- Repairing machinery, steel structures and other components by welding parts and filling gaps as required.
- Testing and inspecting welded surfaces and structures to identify defects, faults or inconsistencies.
- Maintaining tools, welding equipment and machinery in safe working condition.
Skills & Qualifications:
· Minimum 1 year of relevant structural steel fabrication experience.
· Advanced experience in Structural Steel fabrication (minimum 1 year).
· Certificate III and IV in Engineering (mandatory).
· Diploma of Engineering – Advanced Trade (mandatory).
· Able to work independently or as part of a team.
· Strong commitment to safety and compliance.
· Ability to meet project deadlines and quality requirements.
· Availability for shift work if required.
· Reliable, proactive, positive attitude and strong work ethic.
