Head Chef – Ferntree Rainforest Lodge

Location: Cape Tribulation, Queensland
Salary: AUD $77,000 – $80,000 per year
Job Type: Full-time

About Ferntree Rainforest Lodge

Ferntree Rainforest Lodge is located in the heart of the Daintree Rainforest in Cape Tribulation, Tropical North Queensland. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and deliver high-quality dining experiences for domestic and international guests.

This role offers a unique lifestyle opportunity to live and work in one of Australia’s most iconic rainforest destinations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage daily kitchen operations including food preparation and service
Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff
Design and implement seasonal menus with a focus on quality, presentation, and cost control
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness
Manage stock ordering, stock control, and kitchen budgets
Minimise food wastage and maintain efficient kitchen operations
Work collaboratively with management to ensure excellent guest experiences

About You

Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar senior kitchen role
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards
Experience with menu planning, food costing, and stock management
Ability to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment
Passion for delivering high-quality food and customer experiences
