About the role

Join a 2026 AFR BOSS Best Places to Work Gold Winner and 2026 Sustainability Champion recognised by the World Steel Association. Play a key role in shaping our performance across our Tonkin business.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, and based at our Tonkin Steel Centre in Townsville, you ensure orders are picked, loaded, and ready for dispatch. You’ll be instrumental in keeping things running safely and efficiently.

What you will be doing:

Pick and pack customer orders
Load and unload trucks
Cut steel and operate machinery (overhead crane, forklift, processing machines)
Provide excellent customer service
Ensure all tasks are carried out safely

The hours for this role are Monday to Friday, 7.00am-3.06pm.

The hourly rate for this position is $32.46 per hour.

What you will bring:

A current high risk forklift licence is required.
Have a high regard for safety and enjoy working in a collaborative team environment.
Be proactive and have excellent customer service skills.
Overhead crane experience, and experience with steel will be highly regarded.

Please note: The successful applicant will be required to complete a pre-employment medical as part of the recruitment process, which includes drug and alcohol testing.
