Cabonne Council is seeking an experienced and improvement-focused Transport Engineering Specialist to help shape the future of our Transport Department. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside the Department Leader – Transport and key stakeholders to drive an improvement program across processes, systems, data and people, while supporting the delivery of safe, efficient and sustainable transport services for our community.

About the Role
In this role, you will coordinate transport improvement initiatives, strengthen planning and scheduling, improve project and asset workflows, enhance data visibility for decision-making, and help build strong collaboration across teams. You will play a key role in turning strategy into practical action and helping Council deliver high-quality transport infrastructure outcomes across Cabonne.
- Lead improvement initiatives across planning, systems, data and team coordination
- Support development of annual, 1-year and 3-year transport works planning frameworks
- Improve workflows from concept, scoping and budgeting through to delivery and close-out
- Review and strengthen the integration of systems, processes and data across the department
- Work with leaders and teams to clarify responsibilities, improve handovers and build a stronger one-team culture
- Contribute to better decision-making, improved performance monitoring and practical service delivery outcomes

About you
To succeed in this role, you will bring tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, experience in works planning and transport or infrastructure environments, and the ability to connect people, systems and processes to achieve measurable improvement. You will be a strong communicator with sound project management, process mapping and stakeholder engagement skills, and a commitment to safety, integrity and quality service delivery.
