About the role:
An exciting opportunity exists for a Qualified Chef to join Victoria Police. This position is attached to ‘People Development' who are responsible for providing education, training and development for all employees of Victoria Police from initial training and throughout their career.
This role contributes to the delivery of large-scale catering services across two key sites- the Victorian Police Academy and Airlie Leadership Development Centre. As a Chef, you will work as part of a team supporting commercial kitchen operations, with the Academy kitchen staffed by ten people and the Airlie kitchen by three.
The role involves Preparing, cooking and plating meals to a high standard. Your contribution supports broader objectives of the Command in providing a professional and well-managed catering service for staff and recruits.
The position requires flexibility with shifts required to be performed at two People Development food services areas, (A majority of your time will spent at Glen Waverley) (the Victorian Police Academy in Glen Waverley and Airlie in South Yarra). The position entails shift work Monday to Friday, with shifts usually commencing between 5.30am and 10.30am. Rostering will be provided in accordance with the applicable Enterprise Agreement.
The position will report to the VPS4 Catering Manager.

Manage, train and support junior staff

Comply with all food safety requirements

About You:
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:

Have extensive knowledge of all facets of high-quality large volume cooking.

Demonstrate ability to supervise and motivate staff.

Ability to plan & co-ordinate all aspects of your given role.

Extensive knowledge of dietary requirements.

Experience in ordering and stock control

Excellent communication skills

Salary range $81,497-$98,995 + superannuation

This position is located at Victoria Police Academy 1 Viewmont road Glen Waverley

This position requires shift work as indicated in the Position Description (as attached to the advertisement).
