Full-Time Pet Grooming Salon Manager

Paw Stars Pty Ltd is seeking a full-time Pet Grooming Salon Manager to oversee operations at our Bondi location. This role is responsible for leading our team at the Bondi branch to ensure smooth daily operations across the grooming, training and technical service arms of our business. This role involves overseeing a specialized animal service facility with a primary focus on technical service delivery, animal welfare standards, and the management of DIY service infrastructure.
Salary
AU$77000 – $80,000 per annum plus superannuation
Duties and Responsibilities
· Organising and overseeing daily operations across grooming, training, and DIY technical services to ensure efficient workflow and high standards of animal care.
· Coordinating appointment scheduling, walk-ins, and staff rosters to maximize operational capacity for both professional and DIY service models.
· Managing the recruitment, induction, supervision, and ongoing technical training of team members across grooming, training, and customer service functions.
· Implementing and maintaining hygiene protocols and safety procedures to ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and animal welfare standards, including the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.
· Overseeing the wellbeing and holistic care of pets, including monitoring the use of calming aids for stressed animals and maintaining logs of health or behavioral incidents.
· Monitoring inventory levels of grooming supplies and technical equipment and arranging procurement to maintain operational adequacy and cost efficiency.
· Reviewing the mix of professional services and DIY facility access offered, making adjustments based on seasonal trends, animal safety requirements, and commercial objectives.
· Determining service charges and ancillary product pricing based on financial targets, competitor analysis, and market demand.
· Planning and overseeing promotional activities, including local marketing and community participation, to drive engagement with our specialized services.
· Managing client interactions by advising on suitable grooming and training programs and supervising the safe use of DIY machinery by the public to mitigate liability risks.
· Maintaining accurate records relating to appointments, sales, and performance indicators to inform strategic decision-making by the business owners.
· Ensuring compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements, specifically focusing on bio-hazard controls and safe industrial machinery operation.
Qualifications & Experience
· Proven experience of two or more years in a senior role within a pet-related service or technical grooming environment.
· Demonstrated leadership experience, including staff scheduling and the coordination of skilled service providers such as groomers and trainers.
· Strong background in service-based client management with skills in handling complex animal-related concerns and maintaining service quality.
· Working knowledge of facility administration, including booking systems and operational health and safety standards.
· Minimum qualification of a Diploma-level in relevant fields such as Animal Studies, Business, or Leadership is desirable.
