Howe Automotive Engine Centre Pty Ltd in Daylesford, Victoria, is seeking a qualified Automotive Technician for a full‑time, permanent role in our busy workshop. The position involves a broad range of mechanical work across petrol and diesel passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles.
About the role
· Diagnose mechanical faults and perform repairs using scan tools and diagnostic equipment.
· Service, repair and overhaul engines, including timing, fuel and cooling systems and associated components.
· Conduct routine servicing, safety checks and roadworthy‑type inspections in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
· Complete job cards accurately, record parts and labour, and communicate required work to the workshop manager.
· Follow all workshop WHS procedures and help maintain a tidy and safe work area.
What we are looking for
· Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or similar relevant automotive trade qualification, or foreign equivalent.
· Solid experience working as an automotive mechanic/technician on a variety of late‑model vehicles.
· Good diagnostic and problem‑solving skills, with experience using modern diagnostic equipment.
· Ability to interpret technical information, wiring diagrams and service data.
· Strong work ethic, reliability and the ability to work well in a small team environment.
Position type and hours
· Full‑time permanent position (38 hours per week).
· Standard workshop hours with potential for reasonable overtime as required.
