As our services continue to grow, we are seeking a proactive and highly organised Recruitment & Rostering Officer to join our team on a 6-month fixed-term contract with potential extension, commencing from August 2026.
About the Role
This is a fast-paced and rewarding position that combines workforce coordination, staff rostering, and recruitment support within the disability services sector.
You will play a key role in ensuring participants receive reliable and high-quality support services through effective scheduling and workforce planning. Working closely with Service Managers and support workers, you will manage day-to-day rostering requirements, respond to staffing changes, and assist with recruitment and onboarding activities.
This role requires someone who thrives under pressure, enjoys problem-solving, and can confidently manage competing priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Rostering & Workforce Coordination
- Create, manage, and maintain staff rosters in line with participant support requirements
- Coordinate shift allocations and ensure suitable staff matching based on skills, availability, and participant preferences
- Respond promptly to last-minute roster changes, cancellations, and staff absences
- Source replacement staff and ensure continuity of support services
- Monitor roster efficiency and identify practical workforce solutions
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Assist with end-to-end recruitment activities including screening, interviews, and onboarding
- Collect and maintain employee compliance documentation
- Support the onboarding process for new support workers
- Ensure workforce records remain accurate and up to date within internal systems
Communication & Administration
- Act as a key point of contact for support workers regarding roster enquiries and shift coordination.
- Maintain strong working relationships with employees, participants, and internal/external stakeholders.
- Provide high-quality administrative support across workforce operations.
- Ensure compliance with NDIS requirements, organisational policies, and relevant employment legislation.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be a motivated and solutions-focused individual with strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
You will ideally bring:
- Previous experience in rostering, scheduling, workforce coordination, or recruitment
- Experience within the disability, community services, aged care, or healthcare sector (preferred)
- Strong understanding of customer service and workforce engagement principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High-level administrative and computer skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously
- Knowledge of the SCHADS Award and Fair Work requirements (desirable)
- Experience using rostering or scheduling software systems
