About Alkane

Costerfield Operations, owned and operated by Alkane Resources Ltd, is situated in Central Victoria, east of Bendigo and surrounded by numerous towns within a 50km radius, offering a variety of residential options.

Our current operation runs an underground mine and processing plant that is responsible for producing gold and antimony. The mine's workforce consists of over 250 permanent employees who hold various roles in professional, technical, mining, processing, and trades.

Please note: Costerfield Operations is a residential mine and relocation to the local area is essential for this role.

We are seeking a Production Engineer to join our team at Costerfield Operations. This role is ideal for an experienced Underground Production Engineer to contribute to a growing operation.

About The Role

Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent the new production Engineer will be a practical and safety focused team member who wants to further develop their career in underground metalliferous mining environment. Your experience will include a sound knowledge of drill and blast designing, rock mechanics and a practical knowledge of narrow vein drill and blast stoping methods.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

Work with the Shift Supervisor in their daily planning activities to ensure operations follow the short-term schedule.
Conduct underground inspections of production areas to enable efficient operation and planning.
Completion of engineering tasks such as drill and blast design, production plans, survey and monthly reporting.
Track daily, weekly and monthly production and development activities and determine compliance against forecast.
Undertake geotechnical inspections and minor rehabilitation plans to address geotechnical issues/hazards.

About You

Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering
Have a strong commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
A minimum of two years’ experience as a Mining Engineer (preferably with underground time completed).
Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a small but focused operations team. Your ability to communicate with operation team members is a critical component of this role
High level of understanding of underground mining activities.
