The Costerfield Operation is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support site upgrades and operational projects at our Costerfield Operation. This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic, technically capable professional looking to make a meaningful impact at a high-performing site.
About The Role
Reporting to the HSEC Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering site projects across the Costerfield Operation. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring all projects are executed safely, reliably, and cost-effectively, while aligning with both operational priorities and financial objectives.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Ensure compliance with safe work practices, company policies, and productivity standards.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of the Project Management Plan – schedule, cost estimate, cashflow and risk register.
- Track progress against baselines; forecast schedule and cost outcomes, recommend corrective actions and recovery plans.
- Prepare status reports, dashboards and steering committee packs with clear variance analysis and recommendations.
- Ensure all planning permits are in place and compliant with proposed works and conduct regular assessments to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Manage interface between stakeholders (internal and external), ensuring technical deliverables meet codes and contract requirements.
Facilitate coordination meetings, document decisions, actions and risks with clear ownership and due dates.

About You
You are a proactive, results-driven professional with strong strategic capability and the confidence to manage complex operational requirements. You excel in fast-paced environments, demonstrate exceptional time-management skills, and are committed to continuous improvement while maintaining the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and quality.
You will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- 3–5 years’ experience in project engineering (or equivalent)
- Experience in project controls (schedule, cost, risk)
- Understanding of contract administration and construction/implementation processes
- Proficiency in MS Project
- Strong commitment to safe mining operations
- Collaborative mindset and strong communication skills
- High attention to detail, analytical capability, and self-motivation
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities
Exposure to mining software (e.g., SURPAC, Deswik) – desirable
