Company Description

Escape Hunt Gold Coast is a themed escape room venue in Southport, offering immersive group experiences for corporates, birthdays, hens & bucks parties, and social groups. We're looking to grow our group bookings business and want someone with the local network and sales drive to help us do it.

Role Description

This is a flexible, commission-supported role ideal for someone who already has a network in corporate events, wedding/hens & bucks planning, or local Gold Coast hospitality — you'll be rewarded directly for the bookings you bring in, with the flexibility to build your own schedule around client meetings and site visits.

The Group Bookings & Business Development role is responsible for driving new corporate, party, and group bookings for the venue. Day-to-day activities include reaching out to local businesses, HR/office managers, and wedding/events planners; building referral partnerships; responding to inbound inquiries and converting them into confirmed bookings; and representing Escape Hunt Gold Coast at local networking events. You'll work closely with the venue team to ensure bookings run smoothly, but the core focus of this role is growing the pipeline of group bookings — not day-to-day venue operations.

Qualifications

An existing network of local contacts in corporate events, HR/office management, wedding/hens & bucks planning, or hospitality is essential
Strong sales and relationship-building skills — comfortable with outbound outreach, cold calls, and in-person meetings
Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to work independently and manage your own pipeline
Excellent communication skills for engaging clients and negotiating group packages
Flexibility to attend local networking events, site visits, and occasional evening/weekend meetings
Previous experience in group sales, event sales, or venue business development highly regarded

Compensation

This role starts with a 4–6 week trial period, commission-only, so you can prove out your pipeline before we commit to an ongoing retainer:

10% commission on bookings of 10–15 people
15% commission on bookings of 16–25 people
20% commission on bookings of 26+ people

Landing 3+ confirmed group bookings within the trial period triggers a move to an ongoing monthly retainer of $300–500, on top of the same commission structure, to support continued outreach.

Plus a $200 bonus for every corporate client who becomes a repeat customer (3+ confirmed bookings), paid on their third booking.

Pay: $3,600.00 – $98,161.41 per year
