Position Title: Full-Time Sushi Chef

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: Competitive rate (discussed in person based on experience)

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Sushi Chef to join our culinary team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality Japanese cuisine while maintaining excellent standards of food safety, efficiency, and kitchen leadership.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Menu & Inventory Management: Assist in planning Japanese menus and seasonal specials; monitor food costs and assist with ordering specialized ingredients.
Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare, cook, and present high-quality sushi, sashimi, nigiri, rice bowls, and hot Japanese dishes in line with establishment standards.
Quality Control & Food Safety: Safely handle, inspect, and store raw fish and seafood; ensure consistency in portioning, taste, and presentation.
Staff Guidance: Demonstrate knife skills, fish handling techniques, and food preparation procedures to junior kitchen staff.

Requirements:

Experience as a Sushi Chef or Cook.
Knowledge of Japanese cuisine, raw fish handling, and sushi prep techniques is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
Excellent time management and teamwork skills.
