Complex Care Clinician - Forensic Mental Health
Team: Mental Health & Counselling Services
Employment: Part-time (0.8 EFT) or Full-time, Ongoing
Reports to: Complex Care Lead
People are more than their circumstances.
Our Forensic Mental Health in Community Health (FMHiCH) program supports people on Community Corrections Orders to address their mental health needs, reduce reoffending, and build healthier, more stable futures.
We're looking for a clinician who can build trust where others see resistance, stay curious when things are complex, and help people take meaningful steps towards change.
Is this you?
You:
-
believe people deserve to be treated with dignity, respect and without judgement.
-
see the person behind the circumstances, not just the behaviour.
-
build rapport quickly and engage people who may be reluctant or difficult to reach.
-
remain calm, grounded and professional when working with complexity and risk.
-
understand that meaningful change takes patience, persistence and consistency.
-
enjoy working autonomously while being part of a supportive multidisciplinary team.
-
hold relevant qualifications in and credentialing Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nursing or a related discipline.
Your new role
You'll support people involved in the justice system who are experiencing mental health challenges and often a range of complex social and wellbeing needs.
The role includes intake and engagement, assessment, care planning, treatment coordination, case management and therapeutic interventions. You'll work closely with Community Corrections and other services to help clients access the support they need.
Every day is an opportunity to make a genuine difference.
What makes our team different?
We genuinely care about the people we work with, the people we support, and each other.
We believe we're always better together. We work collaboratively, share knowledge, talk through challenges and celebrate wins, because no one should have to carry the tough days alone.
We don't take ourselves too seriously, but we take what we do very seriously.
This is a team where you'll be supported, valued and encouraged to bring your ideas, strengths and personality to work.
