We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in high-quality workmanship, problem-solving, and keeping machinery operating at peak performance in a busy agricultural environment.
In this position the applicant will be tasked with general servicing, preventative and preseason mechanics, breakdown and repairs to a variety of agricultural equipment and a fleet of multi-combination units. You’ll work as part of a collaborative maintenance team to ensure our plant and equipment are operating at their best supporting the ongoing success and growth of a leading agribusiness.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Carry out scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance, and repairs on agricultural
machinery and farm plant, including tractors, headers, spray rigs, and associated
equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults across a
range of agricultural equipment
- Respond to breakdowns in the field and in workshop settings to minimise downtime
during critical farming operations
- Assist with seasonal and urgent breakdown repairs, including after-hours and peak
harvest periods
- Ensure all machinery is maintained to a safe, reliable, and compliant standard in line
with agricultural WHS requirements
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment, ensuring tools and
equipment is properly maintained and stored
- Work closely with farm operations and management to prioritise repairs during
planting, irrigation, and harvest seasons
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum 5 years' experience in heavy diesel mechanics or relevant trade qualifications.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and reliability under pressure.
- Sound understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively.
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and reliability.
- High attention to detail, time management, and organisational skills.
- Current unrestricted Driver's Licence, Heavy Combination Licence would be desirable.
- Willingness to work away from home when offsite maintenance is required.
- Willingness to work weekend and long hours in busy times.
- Owning your own vehicle and tools would benefit your application.
Location
- This role will be primarily in Coleambally NSW.
